Kathleen Sgro DNP, MBA, RN
Dr. Sgro is a Registered Nurse with a background in medical-surgical, long term care, and oncology nursing. She is a graduate of St. John’s Hospital College of Nursing in Springfield, IL. In addition to her degree in Nursing, Dr. Sgro has received a Bachelor of Science in Health Care from St. Frances College in Joliet, IL, a Master in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Rush University, in Chicago, IL.
As founder of Alterna-Care, Dr. Sgro is dedicated to providing holistic care to homebound clients. She believes many patients and caregivers go without the supportive care that is available through home health services.
Chief Financial Officer:
Nancy Enlow CPA
As a Certified Public Accountant through the State of Illinois, Nancy has had extensive experience as an accountant for one of Springfield’s top public accounting firms as well as years of experience as a controller for a private organization. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Illinois State University in Bloomington, IL.
Chief Development Officer:
Joseph Sgro MA, MOB
Joseph has a background as a legislative liaison with the Illinois Department of Transportation and has founded branch offices in Jacksonville, Litchfield, and Maryville, IL. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Dayton in Ohio, a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Springfield, and a Master of Science in Management and Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University, in Lisle, IL.
Chief Operations Officer:
Richard Sgro SPHR
Richard is a former lobbyist with the State of Illinois. He also worked on the State of Illinois’ annual budget as a research analyst for the Illinois Department of Revenue. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Richard has implemented many new and exciting changes that have improved communication and increased efficiency.
Director of Nursing, Home Health Services:
Rachel Walden RN, BSN, WCC
Rachel is a Wound Care Certified nurse with nearly 10 years of experience in critical and home health care settings, and has been with Alterna-Care Home Health System for five years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and her Wound Care Certification from the Wound Care Education Institute.
Director of Rehabilitation:
Linda Meade PT
Linda brings over 20 years of direct patient care experience to Alterna-Care Home Health System. She has extensive experience as a Physical Therapist in hospital, skilled nursing and home health settings. She graduated Cum Laude from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, and is licensed in both Illinois and Texas.
Director of Human Resources:
Tina Simmermaker SPHR
Tina brings over 25 years of human resource experience to Alterna-Care Home Health System. She has provided human resource direction in a variety of industries; most recently in the home health industry. She graduated from Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and attended the Institute of Labor Relations at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Manager of Private Duty Operations:
Crystal Coleman LPN
Crystal has provided direct patient care for over 14 years in both hospital and nursing home settings. She has gained significant experience in cardiac and wound care from her work in Cardiac and Intensive Care Units. She graduated from Capital Area School of Practical Nursing in Springfield, Illinois and is certified in IV Therapy.
